The Delaware Senate Republican Caucus Pays Tribute to Cpl. Keith Heacook
The Delaware Senate Republican Caucus pays the highest tribute and respect to Corporal Keith Heacook of the Delmar Police Department. Corporal Keith Heacook made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his community, and his contribution to his community, state, and country, must never be forgotten. On Thursday, the Senate unanimously passed SCR 42, commemorating his lifetime of service. We offer our prayers and condolences to his family, friends, DPD, and the entire Delmar community.
Senate Unanimously Passes SCR 41; Recognizes Law Enforcement Officers Killed or Injured in the Line of Duty
On Wednesday, the Senate unanimously passed SCR 41, recognizing Delaware Law Enforcement Officers killed or injured in the line of duty. In doing so, the Delaware State Senate and House of Representatives recognized the sacrifice of law enforcement officers killed and injured in the line of duty, denounced violence against law enforcement officers in all forms, and expressed its gratitude for the service of the members of law enforcement to protect and uphold the law.
Senator Wilson's SB 106 Passes Senate; Heads to House of Representatives for Consideration
A personal note from Senator Wilson:
There are a number of services available through federal funding for public and private school students with disabilities, but not to those who are homeschooled.
That is why I began exploring options with the Department of Education, institutions of higher education, and other stakeholders to help create a solution to this problem. After many months of conversations and meetings, I am proud to say Senate Bill 106 (SB106) has passed the Delaware State Senate unanimously.
SB106 updates the definition of “homeschool” in the Delaware Code to allow these students to be eligible for many of the same services that those who attend public and private schools can currently access. One such service that served as the precipice for this legislation is speech pathology.
I wish to thank all who have played a role in the creation of SB106 and look forward to advocating for its passage in the House of Representatives.
