Practical Woman Runs for House of Representatives District 8 Martha Sturtevant, a graduate of Delaware GOP Winning Women in 2007, will run for election to the Delaware State House of Representatives. She is running on a platform consisting of fiscal responsibility, with the goal of moving Delaware back to where it once was – a state friendly to important industries that would bring thousands of jobs. Martha’s unique qualifications include her work as legislative assistant for the House of Representatives and her service on several boards that focus on issues such as healthcare and leadership development for women. Martha is a strong supporter of our troops and has testified before the House of Representatives on their behalf. Martha Sturtevant has what Delaware needs - ideas, leadership, action. Sussex County GOP Family Picnic Wilson Auction, Rt. 113, Lincoln, DE 3-6PM Rep. Gerald Hockers' "Jamboree Boys" will provide the live music. Hear the Candidates outline their positions and enjoy the burgers, dogs, etc. Games for the kids. This is a Family picnic, come out and enjoy the Sunday afternoon. $10 per family. Y'all come now, ya hear? DFRW Convention This is the Official Call to the 56th Annual Convention of the Delaware Federation of Republican Women. It is being held in the New Amstel Ballroom at the Embassy Suites, 654 South College Avenue, Newark, Delaware on Saturday, October 4, 2008 starting with registration from 8:30AM to 9:30AM. The morning will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:15AM and the Business meeting will convene at 9:30AM. An enthusiastic and enjoyable speaker is scheduled (name to be announced later!). A Fresh Fruit Plate and Herb Grilled Chicken Luncheon will be served in the Atrium. Total convention cost per person is $35.00. Reservations are required! RSVP to President Suzanne Sams by email rssams1@mchsi.com or call her on 945-2586 no later than September 10, 2008. Payment of $35.00 should be made out to SCRWC and mailed to Treasurer Pat Russiano. She will send a check to DFRW for all the attendees. Ads are being accepted for the Convention Ad book. Please contact Diana Boggs on 302-234-3388 for further information. Ads must be submitted no later than September 8, 2008. SCRWC is entitled to 8 Delegates to the Convention. Please contact President Suzanne if you would like to be a delegate.
Governor Candidate Bill Lee's Sussex County Headquarters Bill Lee's Headquarters is open everyday and very busy. SCRWC Member Mary Spicer is the Office Manager. If you would like to volunteer, please call her at 260-9206. They can use your help addressing and stuffing envelopes, making calls, etc. "It's completing a lot of small tasks that elect a Governor." Please consider volunteering to help get Bill elected.
